The Sprint Auction returns
ShareThis
Here it comes again! After plenty of searching and a bit of negotiation we have found another amazing deal for you lucky lot. Last week we helped Duffman to keep himself safe with our helmet auction and this week we switch our attentions to cycle fashion. And whilst I can assure you I am no fashionista (as my Hi-vis helmet will confirm) our latest find is quite something..
Recycling and re-use is one of our core values here at GGB and our latest auction couldn’t be better aligned with this ethos. We met Betty a couple of weeks ago at the UK Aware show and immediately fell in love her line of recycled bike bits all lovingly made in their bohemian workshop in Brixton/Herne Hill.
Her company Velo-re was founded in 2006 out of a recyling project in Berne, Switzerland which sourced old bicycle parts for use in repairs. They decided that the old tyres and inner tubes that had done real miles on real roads should not be retyred (sorry!) quite yet and so set about creating accessories for cyclists. They even do commissions!
Check the video below for a little bit more about them and their work:
So onto the auction details, the format will be much the same as last week:
- The auction will be a single lot. A Velo-re handmade belt RRP £30 (see main picture).
- The bidding will start at £5 with small increments of £2 and there will be NO reserve price set.
- The auction will run from 12.30pm until 4.30pm at which point the winner will be contacted and arrangements made for delivery.
- The belt comes in a single size suitable for 28inch-34inch waists
- The auction will take place in the GGB Sprint Auction Store
So get your bidding fingers ready and help give a once loved tyre a second lease of life!
