Challengers ready! Gladiators ready!

Last night GGB hosted a Charity Cycle Evening at our favourite venue: Look Mum No Hands the hippest bicycle café in London. The evening was designed to give individuals and teams the opportunity to talk about some of the challenges they had done for charity, how others can get involved in charity cycle events and tips for organising such events. Oh and of course general mingling, chit chat and beers…..
With everything set and the ambience just right, we welcomed the first of our three speakers to the stage:
First up was Paddy Bishop from the Crazy London Cycle Challenge; this is, as alluded to in the name, a CRAZY challenge: 2 teams cycling 100 miles round London using 23kg Boris Bikes inside 24 hours. With only 4 minutes on average to get to each of the 400 plus docking stations. All donations raised go to Frank Water Projects. The challenge is taking place on the 2nd September.
Next up were Anna-Maria Weber and Larissa Clark who had recently taken part in the Great London to Paris Fashion Cycle. These girls managed to combine a love for fashion and feel for adventure by making a 300-mile bicycle journey between two of Europe’s iconic style capitals – London and Paris – to promote a fairer future for the fashion industry via The Environmental Justice Foundation.
Lastly, Jon Stephens from FindMeAChallenge.com stepped up and gave a bit of a master class on how to get your company and colleagues involved in supporting and taking part in life-changing challenge. Jon is somewhat of a veteran challenger having taken part in the grueling Namibia Desert Challenge and the Coast to Coast Challenge in Costa Rica.
The evening was rounded off with some good discussion and food & drinks. If you have had some good charity challenge experiences – let us know!
